Blast From the Past: Mountain Workshops in Mt. Sterling

Twelve years together, over 100 collective pounds lost, thousands of miles traveled. This video seems like it was filmed about a lifetime ago.

I love watching it again because there’s so much perspective and magic from the other side. The insight gained from our journey together is enormous. John’s strength from his own recovery helped me get through my own healing journey—and, we remain grateful for every step that took us through the valley and into a better beyond.

Four years ago, Mountain Workshops set up HQ at the Gateway Arts Center in Mt. Sterling. The participants go out into the community to gather stories, videos, and photographs that capture a different perspective of Kentucky than you may think you know. People from all over the United States and the world apply to take part in this experience each year and help to archive Kentucky life.
