Songs start in quiet corners. Ideas are sown into the furrowed lines of notebook paper, they cling to what nutrients live alongside them in the dark soil, and ultimately come to be from the culmination of fingers on strings, and take their shape under the glowing red recording light. And after all that, we release them into the ether, into the sunlight, and let them live their own life far beyond our expectations and the parameters under which they were originally formed, much less intended.

It’s my belief we can only claim a song in its early stages, much like I would imagine it is when you have children. The idea forms in your belly and begins to grow, taking shape, forged with magic and mystery. You edit, you fine-tune, and then at long last, you set it free. The song belongs to the listener now, a different set of ears that has its own experiences and viewpoints. And, the song means what it needs to mean to the listener in a very personal relationship.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to Bluefoot Entertainment, John T. Edge, and TrueSouth TV for using 3 tracks from our self-titled Swift Silver album. The tracks, Come On Home To Yourself, The Fields Have Turned Brown, and Blackbird’s Refrain were all featured on Season 5, episode 5. If you have the SEC Network or Hulu, then you can find it. We are in some great company with other Kentucky artists like S.G. Goodman and our buddies, The Local Honeys.

We’re glad you heard this music and it whispered to you.

In fact, Bluefoot liked Come On Home To Yourself so much, they asked to use it on the Season 5 Promo, too. Check dis out.
